Homemade Guacamole
This has been one of my favorite snacks for years, and it's something I've made consistently for family and friends for a long time. What makes this version special is the balance. Fresh avocados, tomatoes, lime, and a handful of other ingredients work together to create a flavor that's bright and refreshing without being complicated. I especially enjoy the acidity that the tomatoes add, which complements the lime and helps bring everything together.

- Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Halve the avocados, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.

- Fold in the tomato, onion, jalapeño (if using), and cilantro.
- Add the lime juice, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust until it is bright and well seasoned.
- Serve immediately.
Chef’s Notes
For me, guacamole only works when it's made with fresh ingredients from start to finish. The tomatoes are not just garnish—they add acidity that works with the lime. Mash it only as much as you want; I like it a little chunky.
